Sunshine, Smiles, and Sweet Surprises at The Cloisters’ Easter Egg Hunt

The Cloisters, 12th April 2025 — The sun was shining and spirits were high on Saturday as families gathered at The Cloisters for its first ever Easter Egg Hunt, a much loved springtime tradition that delivered a perfect day of fun, food, and festivity.

Set against the backdrop of the beautiful historic grounds, the event welcomed children and parents alike to take part in a joyful afternoon filled with colourful eggs, creative crafts, and classic picnic vibes. With clear blue skies and a warm breeze, the setting couldn’t have been more idyllic.

The Easter Egg Hunt scattered through the building and across the gardens — saw little ones racing around finding and solving clues that lead to their choice of Chocolate egg.

“It was great seeing the kids so excited. And the weather made it even better,” said one parent, relaxing on a picnic blanket with friends. Another said it was their first time here and looked forward to coming on the next Tea and Tour.”

Picnic spots dotted the lawn, with families enjoying homemade sandwiches and sweet treats under the spring sun.

Inside the hall, arts and crafts tables were set up, a burst of creativity took over as children got busy crafting Easter cards. But no gathering at The Cloisters would be complete without Jess’s cakes and scones — a now-legendary fixture at The Cloisters. Jess, a longtime supporter of the cause, returned once again with her homemade cakes including banana cake to chocolate cake and which were, as always, a total winner – all proceeds going towards the charity.

Event organiser Emily called the day “It was a great to see so many of the local community here,” adding, “seeing all the children running around with big smiles on their faces, that’s what made my day.

As the afternoon came to a close, chocolate coated fingers clutched their art and crafts and headed home. It was clear that The Cloisters first Easter Egg Hunt was more than just a day out — it was a memory in the making. “We’ll be back next year!
