As you know, the chimney has been causing a number of concerns recently due to crumbling brickwork and the risk of falling masonry. After a careful assessment and ongoing monitoring, it became clear that action was needed to ensure the safety of both the structure and everyone nearby.

We’re pleased to report that a professional steeplejack has successfully ascended the chimney and carried out essential remedial work. The loose masonry has now been made safe, significantly reducing the risk of further damage or debris falling from the structure.

This intervention was carried out with great care, respecting the historic nature of the building while addressing the immediate safety issues. Further inspection and maintenance work will continue as needed, but for now, we can all breathe a little easier knowing that the most urgent concerns have been addressed.
